Jean C. PalmerJean Palmer is Past President of the Washington Metro chapter of American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) and under her leadership the chapter received two outstanding national awards.  She is a founder of professional women's networks in Alexandria, Virginia and Ames, Iowa. 

Jean Palmer, M.S., has over twenty-five years of training experience in both the public and private sector.  Since 1985, she has had her own business, Jean C. Palmer Training for Success and Excellence.   Jean Palmer teaches people how to become effective presenters, communicators, leaders, team players and managers.  She facilitates workshops and retreats. 

    Jean’s customized training is designed to build competence and confidence in the organization and the individual.         

Jean Palmer has taught for the Small Business Administration, University of Virginia, American Management Association, The George Washington Center for Professional Development, and the USDA Graduate School where she received an outstanding faculty award.  Jean Palmer has trained in county and city governments, congressional offices, non-profit associations and corporations.

A few of her clients are the American Red Cross, CarrAmerica, City of Alexandria, Manugistics, Motorola, Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation, Smithsonian Institution,  Sprint,  Westinghouse, and the US Senate. She also has considerable training experience in the federal government and taught Department of Defense (DOD) public school administrators overseas in Germany,Turkey, and Japan.

 Jean Palmer received her B.S. degree in Education from theUniversity of Idaho and her M.S. degree in Higher Education from IowaStateUniversity.   She has additional graduate credits from Iowa State University and the Leadership Institute of Spokane.   Jean Palmer has been a Director of a YWCA, Director of a Women's Resource Center in Alexandria, Virginia and Assistant Dean of Students at Iowa State University. She is a certified Myers Briggs trainer.
